I PRIDE MYSELF ON CHASING SAFELY, and extremely comfortable behind the steering wheel during a chase. I have even taken my parents & family on storm chases. Throughout my lifetime, l have driven several vehicles past the hundred thousand mile mark many times thru 48 states (and several countries) and incredibly confident in my driving skills, but never complacent!
I’m a mathematics major working in finance and have been chasing storms for 33 years. Growing up in Miami/South Florida, I was no stranger to inclement stormy weather of every kind. From major hurricanes, to hellacious afternoon thunderstorms, Florida certainly had the knack for producing some of the wildest weather on Earth, and I had the unique opportunity to experience mother nature’s fury frequently. My eyes & ears were always glued to the Weather Channel and local news weather stations.
When I was introduced to the Great Plains, I fell in love with more than just tornado chasing. I was mesmerized by small town life, and the many unspoiled places within the heart beat of America.

Karri, a resident of Finland, fell in love with the weather at an early age. From the aurora borealis to the occasional Finnish windstorm, he was always fascinated with weather. He got exposure to severe weather when he was an exchange student in the 80’s in Michigan. In the 90’s he had his first hand tornado experience while visiting Orlando, Florida during a tornado outbreak where he was close to several tornado touchdowns.
I met Karri during a tornado chase in the Great Plains in 2011, and we became best friends ever since. He and I both shared a very deep passion for the weather, and sightseeing. Together we have covered hundreds of thousands of miles of travel all throughout the United States.
Karri now travels from Finland to United States to chase tornadoes and hurricanes with Chasecations regularly. He is a great person to be around and travel with. He is extremely knowledgeable of American history, geography and of course, severe weather.
